Gold is where you find it – GPAA Gold show with Gold prospecting tools & Gold sniping field trip videos…
I just took a little gold prospecting field trip on a rainy day here in Southern California. The GPAA Gold show, this is the Gold prospector’s Association of America annual Gold and Treasure shows across the US. Since this particular GPAA gold show was close, in Pomona California, we decided to make it a family day & see what new gold prospecting tools we could find. While it poured rain we were able to wander the GPAA gold show and check out a few vendors and their new tools.
One of the gadgets that caught our attention at the GPAA Gold show was a relatively inexpensive gold sniping sucker with hose attached concentrator bucket from “Gold-n-Sand.com.” Its a very well-built and uses an innovative locking lid and hose assembly that makes it easy to focus on operating the gold sniping tool instead of fumbling with a pan.
This video post is a quick review of the kinds of things you can see at the GPAA gold show…
With the steep rise in gold prices & prospecting, gold rush interest, the GPAA Gold show has cranked up the number of shows from 9 shows in 2011 to a total of 20 GPAA gold shows this year. Try and get to one if you can, here’s a quick tour of the one in Pomona California. If you’re in Arizona, Dakota Fred from Discovery channel’s “Gold Rush” will have a booth.
Check out my next post for the field demonstration of gold sniping tools from this field trip. As the rain cleared we were able to test out this gold n sand gold sniping sucker. I’ll have that field demo post out for you soon.
It was a great chance to touch base with other gold prospectors & gold prospecting tool suppliers. Suppliers such as Rob Goreham of 49’er mining supplies and Pat Keene of Keene engineering. We watched the mess as panning, mucking contestants sent pans full of water flying for fun and we even took in a blue bowl gold concentrator demo too. Even met with a few of our Hunting4gold.com site members too, pretty cool chance to get to know some of you gold prospecting fans better…
I’m always out looking for new gold concentrating or prospecting tools that help discover gold and keep my costs down. I think it’s important to start a prospecting expedition small & build up once your gold prospecting site proves it has a pay streak worth investing the time and effort into. Smaller placer gold prospecting tools help you keep this small-scale gold miner’s prospecting budget in mind.
How about you? GPAA Gold show and Alaska gold expedition schedule are under the ‘events’ tab on the GPAA Gold Prospecting Site
How to find gold with cool new gold prospecting tools? Please leave a comment or question!

Is the spiral wheel really the best clean up method
Prospector Jess says
A fair number like the spiral wheel, blue bowls are relatively less expensive but not as fast, I use that for smaller runs. Also a vibrating table works well too.

I am 71 years old ,but I still like getting in the creek,I have a damaged right arm but it does work. Its just limited in what I can do. Panning is hard for me so I only use a 10 inch pan. I clean all my material down to a couple of spoons full. I can use a dredgd up to 2 inches anything bigger is a little to hard.I use Gold hunting like ,if you had a headake you take an asprin,so I use Gold hunting and Gold fever to get me out when I probly would no go. This is the way I force myself to excrise. When I get tired I sit down and Turn off the Gold fever. Some people cannot do that .I use Gold fever as a tool and at least come out with some reward, but I am sold on Gold hunting and I build about 95% of my equipment.I will put my trommel and dredge any out there as far as not losing the Gold. Not bad ,you would have to see to believe.I am an GPAA member and love to meet new people look fordward to seeing you at one of the Gold shows. thanks Ed
